Martin Lewis' urgent warning as thousands could miss out on a £7,500 payment in 24 hours

Martin Lewis has given an urgent warning as thousands could be set to miss out on an important payment.

The Money Saving Expert has said that there are people who are still yet to claim a £7,500 coronavirus grant from the government

The 48-year-old believes that around 800,000 could miss out on the crucial payment with the deadline to apply looming.

Martin urged viewers of the Martin Lewis Money Show on ITV to act immediately as they only have until midnight tomorrow (Monday July 13) to apply.

The money is available to those who are self-employed and only 2.7 million of the 3.5 million eligible have applied so far.

He explained: "After Monday - no go, can't happen.

"The key question is if your business has been affected," he said, giving advice to self-employed Brits.

"So if you can put your hand on your hearts and say, yes, it's been worse, then sign the declaration, get the money."

If you're eligible for the scheme, HMRC will have contacted you, however, if you do think you could be entitled, you can check on HMRC's eligibility tool and arrange an application appointment.
