MoneySavingExpert Martin Lewis has revealed some new details over how leaving the European Union will affect people’s pockets.
One of the main concerns, highlighted by members of the public on the show, was how Brexit would affect people’s holiday plans, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Previously, Martin has spoken about the dangers of travelling with an invalid passport when visiting Europe in the case of a no-deal Brexit.
If a no-deal Brexit goes through, UK passport holders will need to have a minimum of sixth months left on their passport in order to visit much of Europe.
This is because British passport holders will be considered ‘third country nationals’ within what’s called the Schengen area.
The Schengen area is made up of countries that have officially abolished border control at their mutual borders.
The Schengen zone includes Spain, France, Greece, Germany, Italy and Portugal - as well as Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland.
Currently, the UK is set to leave the EU on April 12 and with no plan in place, a no-deal Brexit could be a possibility.
But, today Theresa May has asked the EU for an extension to the Brexit deadline to “break the logjam” in Parliament - which means we could still leave with a deal.
For one member of the audience on tonight’s show, the chaos of Brexit was causing her confusion.
The woman told Martin that like most families, she is going on a summer holiday in August.

And whilst two of her children have valid passports, two of her other children do not.
She further asked Martin whether it would be better to renew her children’s passports now or wait until after April 12.
The Money Saving Expert’s answer was simple - no one knows what is going to happen and whether we are going to leave the EU on the proposed date.
But if we do leave the EU, there will be an increase in people renewing their passport, meaning there could easily be delays at the passport office.

Therefore, Martin revealed that she was best renewing her children’s passports as soon as possible.
