Martin Keown has revealed that Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos has been the player to impress him most so far this season, saying that the Spaniard "seems a special player".

Ceballos, 23, joined the Gunners on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid during the summer after he starred for Spain at the European Under-21 Championship.

The playmaker has made a strong start to life at the Emirates and earned a standing ovation from Arsenal fans after his performance in the 2-1 win over Burnley during the club's second game of the season.

He dropped to the bench for Sunday's North London derby after an ineffective display against Liverpool , but he made an immediate impact after coming on in the second half of the 2-2 draw with Tottenham .

The Spaniard's early performances in the Premier League appear to have made an early impression on Keown, who won three league titles with Arsenal.

When asked which player had impressed him most so far this season, Keown wrote in The Daily Mail : "Dani Ceballos.

"His home debut against Burnley was one of the best I've seen in an Arsenal shirt.

"I love his willingness to get on the ball and couldn't work out why he was benched against Spurs.

Sunday's draw with Tottenham means that Arsenal enter the international break in fifth place, with seven points from their first four matches.

After falling behind to goals from Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane, strikes from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang either side of half-time saw Unai Emery's side save a point at the Emirates.
