Marshon Lattimore, Andrus Peat questionable to return vs. Falcons

The New Orleans Saints announced that starting cornerback Marshon Lattimore was questionable to return to their game with the Atlanta Falcons after suffering a thigh injury in the first half. Lattimore had rarely missed a snap going into this game, having led the defense with 499 snaps played beforehand.

Lattimore briefly exited the game to go into the locker room for treatment, accompanied by members of the training staff. Lattimore returned to the sideline where he tested his injured leg by jogging behind the bench and working out on a stationary bike but did not have his helmet or gloves.

Slot corner P.J. Williams took the field in his place, playing opposite Eli Apple. Rookie defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson took over slot duties in Williams’ absence. It’ll take a team effort to bottle up Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones and company.

But injuries hit offense, too: starting left guard Andrus Peat exited the game with an arm injury, with backup Will Clapp standing in for him. The Saints went into Week 10 with great health at the skills position (running back Alvin Kamara, tight end Jared Cook, and wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith each returned from weeks-long absences) but this contest is turning into a war of attrition.
