In a new advert for a long and stylish skirt, iconic retailer Marks & Spencer confidently declares that "a monochrome moment is one you’ll never regret".
However, a number of shoppers feel like the model in the ad photographs looks like she's been up to some dodgy dealings that she will indeed ultimately live to regret, no matter how fashionable her 'monochrome moment' may be, reports Manchester Evening News.
In the pics in question, the model's face is completely obscured behind her hair, and she can be seen taking an exaggerated stride forward as if attempting to get away sharpish without being seen. The black and white stripes don't exactly help matters.

Underneath an ad shared to Facebook, one shopper admitted that they "thought it was a Crimewatch post", while another remarked this "ad looks more like someone escaping the scene of a crime rather than highlighting the merchandise".
A third amused person wrote: "I thought it was a dodgy person that was sneaking away from a crime scene! I suppose it is clever marketing because it got our attention".
Fortunately, the slightly shifty undertone to the ad has done nothing to dent the popularity of the striped pleated midaxi skirt, which has since sold out in all sizes apart from a regular 22.
The £35 skirt - which looks much less sinister onsite - is said to come "in a swishy pleated silhouette, which falls to an elegant midaxi length" with an elasticated waist allowing for "all-day comfort". Presumably, the comfort factor here isn't intended for quick and more relaxing getaways.
Having racked up a glowing five-star rating from 19 happy customers, it's clear that shoppers would still recommend this skirt whether you're heading out to dinner or planning some sort of heist.
