Appointedd is an early-stage startup that revolutionises the way small service businesses operate. Our online booking tools allow people who sell time (such as salons, physiotherapists, plumbers, DJs and consultants) to take bookings from their website, Facebook page or a hosted booking website. We then give them lots of tools to manage their business, including financial reporting, HR, customer relationship management and marketing.
Appointedd was selected to be featured in the BBC 2 documentary The Entrepreneurs. This series followed early-stage startups as they tried to grow their business. We have used this coverage to leverage some fantastic PR and marketing opportunities.
Positioning founder Leah Hutcheon at the heart of the Scottish technology scene, Appointedd has found traction with early-stage businesses and budding entrepreneurs - our key target market. Leah has spoken at many events, including to more than 2,500 budding entrepreneurs at the Entrepreneurs Live! Show 2014. This has gained brand awareness and positive press attention, and we have been able to leverage it to get some early traction with customers and gain a loyal following on social media.
We are just about to announce our recently raised angel investment round. This investment will allow us to deploy paid search engine marketing and paid social adverts, as well as Google AdWords. We will also increase our SEO spend significantly, so that we benefit more from organic search. The last year has been about us getting our software off the ground and attracting positive PR. We are now ready to market our product with gusto.
