Marcus Rashford nearing full fitness after 'visiting Man Utd training ground' for back treatment

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly close to returning to full fitness after three months out injured with a double stress fracture of his back.

The England international was forced off during United's FA Cup third round game against Wolves in January and has been out of action ever since.

He has been battling his way back to fitness, however, and according to The Sun he is almost ready to return for the Red Devils.

It is believed that the 22-year-old visited United's Carrington training base on Monday morning to meet with doctors, and that he also spent some time working out at the on-site gym.

He has not broken any Government rules by doing so, as players are permitted to see doctors for essential treatment.

A source said: "Marcus was working out in the gym and has been undergoing treatment which he has needed in his recovery.

"He looked in good nick and in great spirits. He is hoping that he is coming to the end of what has been a tricky year so far with injury."

Rashford was in superb form before he was cruelly struck down by the injury, and he had scored 14 goals and created four assists in the Premier League.

News of his comeback would come as a huge boost to United, especially as teams are preparing to go back to training ahead of a potential Premier League return in June.

The Government has detailed talks with Premier League chiefs to get football back up and running "as soon as possible".

Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Secretary Oliver Dowden revealed the discussions over a return to action in order to "support the whole football community".

He told the House of Commons: "I personally have been in talks with the Premier League with a view to getting football up and running as soon as possible in order to support the whole football community."
