Marco Tilio on Celtic transfer wanted list as Brendan Rodgers follows up Ange's interest in Aussie hitman

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers wants Melbourne City striker Marco Tilio.

Sources in Australia have confirmed the Hoops have a concrete interest in the Socceroos' frontman. The 21-year-old, who has 10 goals in 31 games, is highly-rated and the initial move was sparked by out-going boss Ange Postecoglou. Record Sport understands that Rodgers now wants to see if a deal can be pushed through to sign Tilio from Melbourne City. Tilio already has five caps after making his Australian debut last year and is tipped to become one of their international stars of the future. He has also been part of three A-League Premiership title wins in recent seasons.

Tilio was also named in the PFA A-League team of the season. He previously came through the ranks of Sydney FC. Celtic have been looking to add another striking option as back-up for Kyogo Furuhashi and South Korean star Oh Hyeon-gyu. Rodgers has already made young Norwegian midfielder Odin Thiago Holm his first signing from Valerenga.
