Marco Tilio Celtic transfer close as terms are 'agreed'

Celtic have agreed terms with Marco Tilio, according to reports.

The Scottish champions are closing in on their second signing of the summer, with the Melbourne City forward set to arrive soon.

The 21-year-old can play up top but is also comfortable on either wing.

Sky Sports state that terms have been agreed between the player and the club.

Their report claims that Celtic are looking to get a deal over the line in the coming days before their players return for pre-season training.

Tilio has five Australia caps to his name so far after impressing greatly in the A-League.

He began his career at Sydney FC before joining Melbourne in 2020.

He's netted 14 goals in 70 games in the Australian top flight.

Tilio will join Odin Thiago Holm as Celtic's latest signing, as they get ready for the second era of Brendan Rodgers.

It's said that Tilio was initially put forward to Celtic's recruitment team by Ange Postecoglou, but Rodgers was impressed by what he saw and sanctioned the move.

Meanwhile, Kyogo Furuhashi has brushed off speculation linking him with Spurs by insisting he only cares about Celtic, after training with his hero Andres Iniesta.

The Premiership Player of the Year is back in his homeland for the summer and was a surprise guest along with Celtic teammate Yuki Kobayashi at his former club Vissel Kobe's public training session.

The Hoops pair went to meet former Barcelona icon Iniesta who will hang up his boots at the age of 39, with this weekend's game against Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo expected to be his final appearance.
