Marco Silva makes Richarlison Manchester United transfer admission ahead of Liverpool FC clash

Everton manager Marco Silva has claimed Manchester United are interested in signing Richarlison, but the forward is set to put pen to paper on a new contract at Goodison Park.

The Brazilian joined the Toffees in the summer of 2018 and established himself as the club's star man on Merseyside, scoring 13 Premier League goals in his debut season.

His form has continued into the new campaign with four goals to his name in the league thus far and Silva claims his performances have attracted the attention of Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to bolster his ranks in the final third but MEN Sport understand Richarlison was not a priority target, with both Jadon Sancho and James Maddison desired options instead.

Nevertheless, Silva the 22-year-old is set to sign a new deal with his current employers but claimed United and many other clubs wanted to sign him.

"I believe it is not just Manchester United," he said of the interest in Richarlison. "I believe it is some more.

"As a club we have to keep our best players.

"Unfortunately we did not keep one of them in the summer [Idrissa Gana Gueye] but to keep growing and going in the right way we want our most important players, our best players, and we should keep all of them. Then we can keep growing.

"We don’t see other clubs who want to grow selling their best players. That is what we should do."

Everton face Liverpool on Wednesday night while Manchester United welcome Jose Mourinho back to Old Trafford against Tottenham.
