Marcelo Bielsa issues Liam Cooper injury update ahead of Hull City clash

Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that Liam Cooper will miss tomorrow night's clash against Hull City.

The Leeds United skipper is suffering from a calf strain which kept him out of Saturday's win at Huddersfield Town and will not be risked for the Elland Road clash against his former side.

"No news," Bielsa replied when asked about team news.

"Cooper is out of the group. [Kalvin] Phillips comes back, that’s all."

Bielsa also confirmed that Phillips will return to the starting XI after he completed his one-match suspension following his fifth yellow card of the season at Middlesbrough.

"Someone is going to leave the team. I have not decided," he said

Despite a defensive shuffle which saw Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi in at centre-back with Gjanni Alioski and Stuart Dallas in the full-back roles, Leeds were able to keep their 11th clean sheet of the season on Saturday.

Alioski and Pablo Hernandez were on target in a 2-0 win which was Leeds' sixth consecutive victory.

A win against the Tigers will see Leeds again move to the top of the Championship table ahead of West Brom, who visit Wigan on Wednesday.
