Marcelo Bielsa delivers big injury update on two key Leeds United players

Marcelo Bielsa is getting closer than ever to a fully fit squad at Leeds United, ahead of Sunday's trip to Barnsley.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Argentinian was asked about injuries and the status of two key players.

At present, Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts are the only injury concerns in the squad and both are on the mend and due a return to senior action in the coming weeks.

"Yes, it’s a possibility," the Leeds boss responded when asked if Roberts was ready to feature against Barnsley.

The 20-year-old forward looked sharp in the Under-23s recent 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace and could be back for the first team at Oakwell.

He also confirmed that United's usual first-choice right-back Ayling will be back for Carlos Corberan's youth team soon enough.

"Ayling is healthy," he added. "Next Friday he will play for the Under-23s to start to get fitness."
