Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips are everything Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa could want in their roles after sterling seasons at Elland Road.
The pair, arguably the most improved players under the Argentinean, were named in the Championship ’s Team of the Season earlier this week.
While there was widespread dissatisfaction among fans over Pablo Hernandez’s omission, Cooper and Phillips have been praised in all quarters as the pillars of this memorable promotion tilt.
Asked for his opinion on their recognition, which was voted for by the Championship’s managers, Bielsa said: “It's one merit that people give to them.
“It's something that we value. It's something that they deserve. More than if it's important or not important for them, the importance is it's fair for both players.
“I like Leeds United players. All the players that are playing during the season, there are not a lot of players, I value them positively.
“I am not thinking I would like to have other players to what we have.”
