Marcel Brands changes continue as Everton scout appointed by Steve Walsh leaves club after three years in role

A European scout appointed by axed director of football Steve Walsh has left Everton.

Dave Worthington was added to the Blues recruitment team following Walsh's appointment in the summer of 2016.

Worthington had worked under Walsh at Leicester City and came to Everton to cover Spain and Portugal but the 74-year-old has now parted company with the club.

The ECHO understands that Worthington has yet to be replaced.

He counts Chelsea and Hull City among a raft of his former clubs with former Everton manager Sam Allardyce appointing Worthington to his recruitment teams at West Ham United, Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers.

Worthington has also worked with Everton's former chief scout Martyn Glover in the past.

Glover, who had been appointed chief UK scout following the arrival of Gretar Steinsson, left Everton in April to take up the chief scout role at Southampton.
