Manuel Pellegrini hails "consistent" West Ham after swatting aside dire Manchester United

West Ham comfortably saw off Manchester United 2-0 at London Stadium on Sunday afternoon and Manuel Pellegrini was left purring over his side's consistency.

It's not something we have associated with West Ham in recent seasons but they are now unbeaten in six, have won three of their last four in the Premier League, kept three clean sheets on the spin and are into the top four in the table.

Goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and a late Aaron Cresswell free kick saw off a pathetic Manchester United outfit, who came to east London for a 0-0 draw and got exactly what they deserved.

For the Hammers, they barely had to stretch into fourth gear to get past the visitors.

Speaking after the game, Pellegrini said that he was very happy with how every aspect of Sunday's match went for his side.

"Yes I think so, we deserved the three points," he said.

"I'm very happy about all of today. The way we played. I always talk with the players that we must have the mentality to play the same way we work during the week. It doesn't matter if we play United or against every big team. We must trust that we are able to beat them.

"I am happy also because the fans enjoyed the game. We kept a clean sheet again.

"We were a very consistent team, we didn't allow them to create chances and when we scored the first goal, a beautiful goal, we continued trying to score the second.

"We kept attacking and trying to recover the ball as high as we could."
