Manor Solomon has made an impressive start to his Champions League career, scoring home and away for Shakhtar Donetsk against Real Madrid.
The Ukrainian League winners defeated the 13-times European Champions twice in the group stage of this year's competition, with Israeli international Soloman shining in both matches.
And The Guardian has now reported that Arsenal are looking to seal a deal for the winger with a view to signing Solomon in the summer transfer window.
The Israeli has featured predominately as a winger for Shakhtar but is capable of playing across the forward line.
It is not the first time Solomon has been of interest to an English club with Manchester City reported to have been keen on him in 2017.
Solomon said of the interest from Pep Guardiola's side: "My owner in Israel [Maccabi Petah Tikva] demanded a lot of money; he wanted £4.5m for me and then he heard it was Manchester City, he wanted £9m.
"After he was willing to sell me to Shakhtar Donetsk and I wanted to go. I looked at the history of the club, I saw everything, the players they produced over there.
"I thought it was a great opportunity for me to play in the Champions League, to continue my young career in this club. I am enjoying life at Shakhtar, I am only 21 years old but one day – sooner or later – I will join one of the best leagues in the world.”
Soloman completed the switch to Shakhtar in 2019 and has not looked back since. It has been reported that Arsenal have held preliminary talks with the player’s management, having scouted him thoroughly, and may look to secure his services before the start of next season.
