Manchester United vs Sheffield Utd, Premier League preview: Kick-off time, team news, TV channel, prediction

Manchester United host Sheffield United in a key battle in the race for the top four on Wednesday.

The Blades suffered a major setback in their bid to close the gap on fourth place Chelsea on Sunday, conceding three times to Newcastle on a disappointing afternoon at St James’ Park.

United meanwhile remain five points behind the Blues after their draw at Tottenham last week.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will hope to stay hot on their heels - and will be hoping for a favour from neighbours Manchester City who head to the capital to take on Frank Lampard's side on Thursday.

Date, time and venue

Manchester United vs Sheffield United is scheduled for a 6pm BST kick-off on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.

The match will be behind closed doors at Old Trafford with no fans due to be present due to government guidelines regarding coronavirus.

How to watch

TV channel: The match will be shown live on Sky Sports' Premier League and Main Event channels with coverage from 5pm, and is available via Now TV with a day pass for £9.99.

The match is also available via Sky One and via Pick TV, Sky's free-to-air channel.

Live stream: Sky Sports subscribers can stream the match online via SkyGo and the SkyGo app, with a mobile month pass available for £5.99.

Team news

Man Utd: de Gea, Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Pogba, Matic, Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes, Rashford, Martial

Subs: Bailly, Mata, Andreas Pereira, Fred, James, Romero, Ighalo, McTominay, Williams

Sheff Utd: Moore, Basham, Robinson, Jagielka, Baldock, Fleck, Norwood, Lundstram, Stevens, McGoldrick, Mousset

Subs: Zivkovic, Luke Freeman, McBurnie, Sharp, Kieron Freeman, Verrips, Osborn, Berge, Rodwell

Referee: Anthony Taylor

Prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Sheffield United

Despite those early errors from David de Gea and Harry Maguire, United looked the more dangerous of the two sides when they met Tottenham - no more so than when Paul Pogba was introduced.

The Blades will be without two key players in Henderson and Egan - surely a boost for United.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

This will be the 95th meeting between these two with the Manchester club winning 44 of those. Sheffield United have 34 wins of their own.
