Manchester United squad vs Everton includes Alex Telles

Manchester United have stayed at The Lowry Hotel ahead of their Saturday lunchtime trip to Everton to avoid disturbances on Merseyside.

United checked in at their usual pre-match base for home games on Friday night after encountering problems while staying at The Titanic Hotel at Liverpool's Stanley Dock.

The squad were previously awoken by a fire alarm during a stay at The Titanic and Liverpool fans once let off fireworks outside the hotel to disrupt the players' sleeping. United have not used The Titanic since 2018-19 and stayed at The Lowry before both trips to Merseyside last season.

United have included Victor Lindelof and Alex Telles in their provisional squad. The MEN revealed on Friday morning Telles has returned to training after recovering from coronavirus and the Brazilian could make his Premier League debut this weekend.

Lindelof was an unused substitute due to a back injury in United's midweek defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir, where fellow centre-back Axel Tuanzebe was substituted at half-time for midfielder Scott McTominay.

Lindelof, 26, suffered back problems last season but only missed three Premier League games and has enjoyed an upturn in form over the last month after a chastening start to the season.

"We've not lost any from the Istanbul trip," Solskjaer said. "Same group, same squad. Alex [Telles] has started training with us, which is good. Victor has still got the issue that he's been struggling with. He'll have to be checked tonight in the hotel.

"It's the same squad as before Istanbul really."

Everton won their first four games of the season but are winless since the October internationals, losing at Southampton and Newcastle after earning a creditable draw at home to Liverpool.

Despite taking only one point from the last nine, Everton are still fourth in the Premier League table and only three points off leaders Liverpool. Solskjaer has been impressed by Carlo Ancelott's impact.

"The whole team, the set-up, when Carlo came in, you know that's a manager that everyone admires: players, coaches, us managers, he's had a fantastic career," Solskjaer added. "And you starting having a little look over there.

Pogba's place in the team is uncertain (Eamonn and James Clarke)

"They didn't have a very, very good period after the restart, maybe struggled a little bit. But now you can see what he's been working on, he's had a good pre-season, probably used the restart to look at his team and been impressed.

"Of course, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been part of that and is integral to their play."

Mason Greenwood was not spotted at the hotel.
