Manchester United players report for training as preparations for Man City fixture begin

Manchester United's squad arrived at their Carrington training base after a morale-boosting victory in the FA Cup fourth round.

United cruised past Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park on Sunday afternoon with a 6-0 win — with six different goal-scorers. It was a triumph that lifts the pressure off Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a touch, although the Norwegian must now prepare his troops for a much tougher test against Manchester City in midweek.

United travel to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night for the third Manchester derby of the season. They trail Pep Guardiola's side 3-1 in the two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final and require a minor miracle to reach the Wembley final.

Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay remain sidelined for United with injuries after missing the FA Cup win, which ensured United finished a disappointing week on a positive note. Rashford was among those spotted arriving at the Aon Training Complex as he continues his recovery.

Solskjaer addressed more protest chants from United's fans at Tranmere, with supporters continuing to voice their unhappiness with Ed Woodward and the Glazers.

"We're just going to keep on working and get the results right and moving the club forward," Solskjaer said."Supporters are always happier when you win games, when you're successful. So we'll keep on working to get results."

Players spotted by photographers reporting for training: Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Eric Bailly, Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Marcos Rojo, Victor Lindelof, Jesse Lingard, David de Gea, Diogo Dalot, Daniel James, Phil Jones.
