Manchester United player Bruno Fernandes trolls Marcus Rashford over West Ham miss

Bruno Fernandes trolled Marcus Rashford on Instagram after the Manchester United forward hit the post before netting his clinching goal against West Ham.

With United 2-1 up having come from behind at the London Stadium, Fernandes sent fellow half-time substitute Rashford through on goal but the forward scuffed his shot across goal onto the post.

The miss did not matter in the end as Rashford scored United's third a short time later after latching onto a Juan Mata through ball.

After the match, Fernandes posted a picture on Instagram of him congratulating Rashford for his goal but could not resist a light-hearted dig at United's No.10 over the earlier miss.

Fernandes captioned the picture: "If you miss a chance like that again you know what will happen", before adding an angry emoji.

The duo were instrumental off the bench to help United win following a poor first-half performance. United trailed 1-0 at half-time, with Rashford and Fernandes being called on at the break to inspire their side to a 3-1 victory.

Speaking post-match, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said it was a difficult decision to leave Rashford and Fernandes out of the starting XI, but that it was important to try and give the key duo a rest where possible.

“It’s not easy leaving these players out but that’s the thing. We try to manage the whole season, the playing time, you know, injuries and fatigue and the little thing that we’ve got,” he said.

“We know at half-time that you can do things and change things in games. It certainly helped with the changes, although it was slight injuries that made us have to do them.”
