Manchester United officially unveil new 2023/24 home kit after Aitch leak at Glastonbury

Manchester United have officially released their new home kit for the 2023/24 season.

The Red Devils’ fresh adidas design is said to have been inspired by the city’s industrial heritage, including the bridge over the River Irwell that marks the boundary between Manchester and Salford.

The new home shirt includes a bold geometric pattern featuring the Lancashire red rose, with black adidas trim and a red, white and black striped flat knit crew neck collar, plus the Adidas and Team Viewer logos in white and the familiar United badge.

The kit also includes white shorts with black trim and a red adidas logo, finished by black and white socks.

United’s senior men’s team will wear the new strip for the first time on July 12, when they face rivals Leeds in their first pre-season fixture at Ullevaal Stadion in the Norwegian capital of Oslo.

“The undying support and connection that Manchester United fans have with their club and city is unique, and for this season’s iteration of the home jersey, we’ve drawn inspiration from just that by celebrating the city’s industrial heritage,” said adidas football design director Inigo Turner.

“The red rose is a symbol that evokes a great sense of pride in the people of Manchester, with the club inextricably linked to its rich history.

“The design really does champion the people and city that make Manchester United what it is today – and we can’t wait to see fans and players united as one wearing the jersey, in what is set to be an important season for the club.”

United fans got an early look at their new home kit over the weekend, when Manchester rapper and United fan Aitch donned the shirt ahead of its official unveiling during his set at the Glastonbury Festival.

“Our new home kit was seen for the first time on Saturday when lifelong United fan and Manchester native Aitch wore it proudly, during his acclaimed performance on Glastonbury’s legendary Pyramid Stage,” the club said on Monday.
