Raiola gives update on Paul Pogba's Manchester United future
Mino Raiola has confirmed that his client Paul Pogba will remain at Old Trafford next season with talks set to begin over a new contract at Manchester United.
“Pogba is a key player for Manchester United, they have an important project and he is 100 per cent included,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
"Manchester United will not accept any bid this summer to sell Pogba. We are going to speak about a new contract soon, no stress.”
United fans make Sancho plea
MEN Sport reached out to United fans on Twitter in order to get their views on United's pursuit of Jadon Sancho.
A total of 57.4 per cent of responders said United should keep their attention on trying to sign the Borussia Dortmund star, while 42.6 per cent believe it’s time to move on to alternative targets.
It is understood Sancho's wage demands and agent fees remain a stumbling block for United, while a transfer fee for the player has not yet even been discussed by the two clubs.
UEFA hint at possible Champions League change
UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has hinted that this season’s single-leg knockout format in the Champions League could return in the future.
Due to complications amid the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s competition was concluded with a drastic change to the usual format from the quarter-final stage onwards.
The traditional two-legged ties were scrapped in favour of one-off knockout ties in neutral venues in Portugal.
“We were forced to do it but in the end we see that we found out something new. So we will think about it in the future for sure,” Ceferin told Reuters.
“(There has been) not so much tactics. If it is one match, if one team scores then the other has to score as soon as possible. If it is two-legged system then there is still time to win the next match.
“More exciting matches for sure but of course we also have to think about the fact that we have less matches and broadcasters (can) say ‘you don’t have as many matches as before, this is different’ so we will have to discuss when this crazy situation ends.”
