Manchester United 'make Erling Haaland and Pogba decision' and more transfer rumours

Manchester United have refused to allow Paul Pogba's future to be involved in any negotiations surrounding a potential deal for Erling Haaland, according to reports.

United are among the clubs eyeing the 19-year-old Red Bull Salzburg striker following his impressive performances this term, although they face competition from Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig in the hunt.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola also represents Haaland and there has been speculation that United will be pressured into allowing Pogba to leave as part of negotiations for the striker.

However, the Evening Standard states that United are refusing to allow this to be a possibility, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer identifying Pogba's importance to his side ahead of the weekend.

United are linked with many attacking reinforcements in January as they look to claw their way back into the Premier League's top four this season but negotiating a mid-season deal for Haaland is unlikely to be an easy task.

Meanwhile, United could also face stiff competition in the market for the services of Bayer Leverkusen ace Kai Havertz.

The Sun states that Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all held talks with the 20-year-old, along with United.

As such, a bidding war could emerge in the market and Bild claims the value of the Germany international is set at a lofty £111m.

Finally, Goal reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expecting to add two new players to his squad during the January transfer window - with Ed Woodward 'under pressure' after missing out on Takumi Minamino.

Liverpool confirmed the signing of the Japan international this week after matching his £7.25m release clause at Red Bull Salzburg, with United 'unaware' of the player's cheap price.

The MEN understand, though, that Minamino was never on United's radar.
