Manchester United legend gives verdict on Aaron Wan-Bissaka transfer

Manchester United legend Andy Cole has described Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a 'very good young player' and believes he is a good signing for the club.

United finally came to an agreement over a transfer fee with Crystal Palace on Wednesday for the right-back, paying £45million and a possible further £5million in add ons.

Wan-Bissaka was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's transfer priority as he looks to rebuild with young, talented, preferably British, players following a dismal end to the previous campaign.

He set his sights on the 21-year-old, who established himself as one of the most defensively sound full-backs in the entirety of the Premier League last season, after securing the signing of Swansea City's Daniel James.

The deal for Wan-Bissaka is expected to be completed on Thursday afternoon and Cole believes he will go on to improve at Old Trafford.

"I believe so," the retired striker told Sky Sports when asked if the signing is a good addition for the club.

“He’s a very good young player. He’s done very well considering he didn’t start his career as a full-back. He’s done extremely well playing there.

“If you come to a club like Manchester United, no doubt he will learn a lot more and have the opportunity to play at a level that he would no doubt like to play at.”
