Manchester United hint at loan deals for youngsters before transfer deadline

Manchester United Under-23s boss Neil Wood has admitted some youngsters will secure loan deals away from the club this summer.

League One and League Two clubs have until September 2nd to complete incoming loan deals, although all Premier League and Championship clubs must complete business by 5pm tomorrow (Thursday).

Many foreign leagues' windows are also open until the beginning of next month and the likes of Tahith Chong and James Garner could be among the United youngsters to secure temporary deals away.

And after a young United Under-21s side secured a win over on Tuesday night, boss Neil Wood was asked about whether some of the players may head out on loan.

"Yeah, definitely," he said.

"Some want to go out on loan, some are ready to go out on loan and some aren't quite ready to go on loan.

"It's getting that individual basis to recognise and see what clubs are interested. And will it help them or will it not?

"I think chances might come up in the near future for some to go out on loan. If not, then they'll stay here and we'll look to develop them as best we can."

Mason Greenwood, 17, was not involved in the Under-21s match, as he is expected to feature for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first team in their Premier League opener against Chelsea on Sunday. Angel Gomes was one of the players to star against Rotherham — as he did on pre-season tour to Australia and Asia over the summer — and looks likely to play some part for the first team in the coming season.
