Manchester United fans say new Casemiro footage dispels transfer myth

Manchester United fans believe a new video that has surfaced of Casemiro during Saturday’s 2-1 win over Manchester City is proof that the midfielder came to the club for the right reasons.

The Brazilian has been one of the Reds' best players since signing from Real Madrid for a fee worth up to £70m during the summer. The 30-year-old was influential in the derby day win, making a number of interceptions and frequently breaking up City’s momentum.

Videos of his celebrations amid Marcus Rashford’s winner went viral on social media with clips showing Casemiro embracing fans and teammates with unbridled joy. And now, a new video has emerged that has encapsulated the linchpin’s passion.

The five-time Champions League winner had to leave the pitch after being treated for a knock in the closing stages of the match, and footage shows Casemiro was apoplectically eager to get back onto the pitch before he had even left it, so much so he pushed away a United physio who was guiding him off the field.

United fans on Twitter greeted his visible passion with warmth, with many hitting back at claims made upon his arrival that the player had only come to Old Trafford for the money. Reacting to the clip on social media, several supporters made sure to declare that this is evidence that those accusations are mere myths, while others hailed his mentality.

@Osae_mufc: They said "he came for the paper".

@Damilare_utd: Is this the same person y’all said he came to United for money? Clowns.

@Benito_Ig: Yet they said he joined because of the money. His passion and determination is second to none. Really blessed to have him at United.

@Elyungdc7: But they said he came for the bag?

@Demo4show: True professional. This type of player understands that every minute counts if you are serious about lifting any trophy.

@zeeballer24: It’s a dream having the best DM in the world playing for Manchester United.

@MbuguaKim2: This guy is going to win the league for us.
