Manchester United fans agree on Anthony Elanga after youngster shines again

Shola Shoretire and Anthony Elanga gave Manchester United fans a potential glimpse into the future on Saturday afternoon.

Although United found themselves 4-1 down against QPR, United's youngsters did inject some much-needed energy into the game and Shoretire provided Elanga with a ball to feet before the young Swede fashioned space to get his shot away in clinical style.

That's the sort of play the academy graduates have regularly delivered when playing for United's U23s at Leigh Sports Village and it seems they're now firmly on track to bridge the gap to the first team, something Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes an abundance of pride in.

The Reds have a rich history of offering academy talent the opportunity to prove their credentials at first-team level and Elanga is the latest pupil to impress fans, with supporters taking to social media to praise the forward after Saturday's pre-season contest.

Do you think Elanga should head out on loan? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

One predicted Elanga would make it 'to the top' while another compared him to United's most recent academy success stories.

“It would be easy to say the boy should go on loan but he’s doing so well. He’s electric, he’s got pace, skill and he’s got the courage and bravery of a Man United player," Solskjaer said on Elanga after the game.

“Today he created chances for others and himself. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s going to be staying here. It depends, of course. It’s important for him to develop and get game time but he’s one that we’ve not really decided.”
