Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah posts injury update

Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah has posted an injury update as he continues his rehabilitation after suffering a serious knee injury.

Fosu-Mensah returned to United to undergo rehabilitation last month having undergone knee ligament surgery following an injury he sustained while playing for loan club Fulham.

The 21-year-old posted a short clip to his personal Instagram account on Friday morning which showed him undergoing hydrotherapy treatment as he walked in a swimming pool.

Fosu-Mensah made 13 appearances while on-loan at Fulham this season as the club were relegated back to the Championship following just one year in the Premier League.

Upon his return to Old Trafford in April a club statement from United wished the Dutch defender well on his road to recovery: "Everyone at the club wishes Tim well with his recovery."

Fosu-Mensah's injury brings to an end what has been a turbulent season for him at club level after he struggled to establish himself under any of the three managers at Fulham.

However, despite his lack of involvement it’s believed Fosu-Mensah enjoyed his time at Fulham and in an apology to fans following the club's relegation he said: “I want to apologise to all the amazing fans and say I’m sorry I couldn’t help keep the club up this season.

“We did all we could but it just wasn’t enough. It’s a fantastic club and I know you will be back in the premier league very soon.”
