Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez has poured cold water on rumours of a potential move to Arsenal this summer.
The Algerian wideman has been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium in the past when he was a Leicester City player, while Mail Online have previously reported that Mikel Arteta is eyeing a move for him this summer.
According to reports, Pep Guardiola is apparently open to selling Mahrez as he aims to refresh his squad ahead of the 2021/22 season which could have potentially seen a potential deal for Arsenal be somewhat easier.
Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Aymeric Laporte are also said to be among the players who could leave City this summer.
However, Mahrez moving to the Emirates Stadium now looks highly unlikely with the Algerian admitting that he is not eyeing a transfer any time soon.
Talking to DZ Sport following his nation’s 1-0 victory against Mali, he said: “There is nothing about my future. I am well in Manchester. I will stay God willing."
Mahrez, now 30, still has two years left remaining on the contract he signed following a reported £60m move from Leicester in 2018.
He has won two Premier League titles in his time at the Etihad Stadium and is fresh off the back of his most prolific season in Manchester having netted 13 goals in all competitions throughout 2020/21.
The Algerian’s latest comments come following a similar statement following the Champions League final where he suggested he could retire with his current employers.
He said: "I want to end my career in England and why not here at Manchester City."
