Manchester-based Well Pharmacy partners with charity Mind

Well Pharmacy, whose head office is based in Merchants Warehouse, Manchester, has announced its first partnership with Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales. The partnership, launched as part of Well Pharmacy’s Culture Code commitment, aims to raise up to £200,000 in its first year. The money will help support Mind’s services, including the Mind Infoline, legal line, and online community, Side by Side.

Mind support the one in four of us who experience a mental health problem each year, and with the impact that the global pandemic has had, more people than ever before are reaching out for support. Mind’s research found that a quarter of adults experienced mental distress for the first time during the pandemic, highlighting the significant impact of the last few years.

Seb Hobbs, CEO, Well Pharmacy said: “Mental health awareness and support is an integral part of the work we do here at Well. By partnering with Mind, we are helping them in their mission to support everyone experiencing a mental health problem. Just like Well Pharmacy, Mind supports the health and wellbeing of millions of people across the UK each year. We will be raising money across all our Well Pharmacy sites and colleagues. We are very keen to get the message that mental health matters. Mental health awareness is so vitally important, as is support provided in the workplace.”

From raffles to dress down days, auctions, and charity bike rides, Well Pharmacy aims to help Mind ensure that everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets the respect and support they deserve. This will be done through a series of fundraising events and community initiatives including runners taking part in the Great Manchester run, on May 22.

Charlotte Porter, Head of Corporate Partnerships, at Mind said: “We are so grateful to Well Pharmacy for supporting Mind as we help those affected by a mental health problem.

“The pandemic has had a devastating effect on the nation’s mental health, especially for those of us with existing mental health problems, and it is vital that everyone has access to the right support, advice, and information when they need it. We would like to thank Well Pharmacy, as the money raised will help support our services, like Mind Infoline, and the campaigning we do to ensure that the one in four of us who experience a mental health problem each year, do not face it alone."
