Manager makes stance clear on Nottingham Forest transfer after talks

Former Nottingham Forest loan star Max Lowe has discussed his future with Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom amid transfer talk linking him to a move away from Bramall Lane.

Lowe who impressed on loan at the City Ground last season, contributing to Steve Cooper's promotion success campaign, remains on the Reds' radar.

According to reports, Lowe has recently been subject of an offer from Olympiacos, which was rejected. Meanwhile Forest's interest for the defender has not gone any further, after seeing a bid knocked back for him in January.

Heckingbottom who described the Greek giants' bid as 'poor', has admitted to discussing the situation with Lowe amid uncertainty. "Yes, I’ve sat down and had a word with him," he said. "I do it all the time. He knows the situation. He knows where we are.

"Sometimes the only person who can get distracted by things like this is the player themselves, the person involved themselves, rather than anybody else. That’s what I’ve told Max and he agreed."

Amid recent transfer links, Heckingbottom added: "He also knows we want him here. There's no issues and I think it's important to be clear and have that clarity. This time it's weird anyway, with social media and all these rumours, people talk and it can be unsettling."
