Man with 'unexplained head injury' found in serious condition next to bike in Castlemilk

A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after suffering an unexplained head injury in Castlemilk .

The 29-year-old man had been spotted lying unconscious with the injury beside a bike by a passer-by on Carmunnock Road.

Emergency services rushed to the man’s aid between Glenacre Terrace and Glenacre Street at around 2.40am on Wednesday, August 14.

Police Scotland are now trying to discover the reason behind is injury as he remains in a serious condition at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

A spokesperson for the force said: “The injured man is of slim build with black hair and a black beard. He was wearing a black G Star quilted jacket, black tracksuit bottoms, a white Hollister hoodie and Ralph Lauren Polo trainers. The bike was a black Carrera Zelos with yellow markings on it, white handles and a white saddle.”

Sergeant Gary Bone, of Cathcart Police Station added: “We are trying to establish how the man got his injuries.

"At the moment there is nothing to suggest criminality but it's important we establish the circumstances around this. Officers have conducted door-to-door inquiries as well as checking CCTV and we're now appealing to the public if they have any information about this incident.”
