A man who suspected his wife of committing adultery flew into a drunken rage and stabbed eight people to death and injured seven more in north west China.
Police in Baiyin, a city in Gansu province, only identified the 49-year-old attacker by the surname Guo.
The force said in a statement that the man suspected his wife of committing adultery.
He then attacked people in neighbouring homes with a knife before dawn and was later arrested.
No details were provided about the victims.
The killings come a month after a man from the same region was found guilty of raping and killing 11 girls and women and was executed.
Gao Chengyong, 54, became known as China’s “Jack the Ripper” after his 2016 arrest for the horrific mutilations he carried out on his victims between 1988 and 2002.
