Man Utd 'unconvinced' by first team coach as finger pointing begins after poor start

Manchester United are reportedly unconvinced by the quality of training sessions being led by first team coach Kieran McKenna.

The Red Devils have lost more games than they have won so far this season and are just two points off the relegation zone after eight games played.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under increasing pressure to keep his job, with Massimiliano Allegri being tipped to replace him should results fail to improve.

But it's not just the Norwegian who is in danger of losing his job at Manchester United, as first team coach McKenna has also allegedly come under the spotlight, with the those behind the scene at Old Trafford monitoring him closesly.

According to The Metro, Manchester United top brass are currently 'unconvinced' by his methods and suitability for the position.

The Red Devils players were initially happy with McKenna's training sessions and they enabled them to express themselves more than the defence-minded ones orchestrated by Jose Mourinho.

But over the past few weeks it has become clear that United have no real direction in games, managing just three shots on target in the defeat by Newcastle, and the quality of first team training sessions has come under scrutiny.

McKenna joined United from Tottenham back in 2016 and initially worked with the Under-18s before being promoted to first team coach.

He is said to have a good affinity with the youngsters but there are reportedly question marks over whether he is experienced enough to manage the senior players.
