Man Utd transfer round-up: Red Devils line up January signing as Martial makes decision

With a new manager at the helm, Manchester United could be set to be active in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Ralf Rangnick era has got off to an unbeaten start so far, with the German boss winning both of his first two Premier League matches, as well as registering a draw in a rather meaningless Champions League tie with Young Boys.

However, while Rangnick has had an opportunity to implement his own ideas on the pitch, off it he hasn't yet had a chance to bring in his own signings.

But with the January transfer window set to open in less than two weeks' time, fans will be eager to see what Rangnick has in store for their club.

And with that in mind, here Mirror Football brings you the latest gossip from Old Trafford.

Martial 'tired of waiting'

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is reportedly facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, via Manchester Evening News, report that Martial is said to be ‘tired of waiting’ for first-team minutes at United.

The same report says the 26-year-old is open to a move in January, with Italian giants Juventus said to be interested.

The Frenchman is currently out injured with a knee problem but has made just seven Premier League appearances this season.

Martial has not started a league game for United since his only league goal of the season in the 1-1 draw with Everton back in October.

United’s vast array of attacking options have pushed Martial down the pecking order at Old Trafford, although he is yet to have a chance to impress Rangnick due to his injury.

United linked with Kounde

Where will Man Utd finish this season under Rangnick? Let us know in the comments section.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde once more.

That’s according to Spanish outlet AS who claim United remain interested in signing the highly-rated central defender, and could make a move for him in the upcoming window.

Kounde, 23, has emerged as one of the best defensive talents in Europe after making a name for himself in LaLiga.

The France international joined the Spanish side in 2019 from Bordeaux and has also attracted interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea – who reportedly failed to agree a fee for Kounde in the summer.

Kounde has a reported release clause of £68million and has a current contract until 2024.

United in ‘advanced talks’ for Kamara

United are edging closer to a deal to sign Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara, according to reports.

Catalan outlet El Nacional, via Manchester Evening News, say United are in ‘advanced talks’ with the 22-year-old.

Kamara – who is a defensive midfielder by trade – can also operate as a centre-half.

The former France Under-21 international is out of contract in the summer and has attracted interested from other clubs around Europe including Barcelona.

United have struggled in defensive midfield for several seasons, and Kamara could be the perfect solution to solve those problems.

Kamara was linked with moves to the likes of Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Wolves in the summer, but no move to the Premier League materialised.
