Man Utd's Erling Haaland transfer 'agreement' would go against Gary Neville advice

Erling Haaland's future will once again be in the spotlight this summer and Manchester United are certainly among the interested parties.

The Borussia Dortmund star is one of Europe's hottest properties and reportedly has a £65m release clause which will come into affect at the end of the season.

United were linked with the Norwegian during his rise at Red Bull Salzburg and held discussions over bringing him to Old Trafford.

Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial could both leave Manchester next summer which would leave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking for a new No 9.

The likes of Harry Kane may well be linked but according to the Manchester Evening News, Solskjaer and football director John Murtough agree that Haaland is a better option.

Since signing for Dortmund Haaland has hit an incredible 68 goals in 67 games in all competitions which started with a debut hat-trick.

The 21-year-old has quite an appetite for the big stage having broken several Champions League records and would be a major asset for any club.

The Raiola factor

Any club who signs Haaland will have to deal with his agent, Mino Raiola.

The Italian has ruffled feathers during his time managing some of football's biggest names.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Matthijs de Ligt, Marco Verratti, Gianluigi Donnarumma and United's own Paul Pogba are all under Raiola's umbrella of players.

He has been particularly outspoken throughout the Frenchman's time at Old Trafford, having played a crucial role in his club record move from Juventus in 2016.

Pogba has been linked with a Manchester exit on several occasions and is currently into the final 12 months of his deal.

Raiola gave a controversial interview to Tuttosport last season in which he said: “I can say that it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United.

“Paul is unhappy with Man Utd as he is no longer able to express himself in the way that he would like and as he is expected to. Paul needs a new team, a change of air.”

Neville's stance

Gary Neville has previously challenged United not to pursue players who are represented by Raiola.

Following continued public comments regarding Pogba and his future at Old Trafford the pundit accused the Italian of constantly trying "to embarrass the club"

He told Sky Sports: "What the club need to do is make a stance on that agent. He has messed them around for years with Pogba and others.

"Why they allow themselves to be played I will never know. He is a serious thorn in the side for them.

"United should stand strong and not do business with him and tell players if they are represented by him we won't do deals with you.

"He is publicly trying to embarrass the club all the time."
