Man Utd predicted lineup vs Arsenal: Confirmed team news and United injury updates

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering handing Mason Greenwood his first Premier League start of the season against Arsenal.

Marcus Rashford has been ruled out of tonight’s game with a groin injury, while Anthony Martial suffered a setback in his recovery from a thigh problem.

The France international underwent more checks over the weekend, with Solskjaer still hoping he could include him in his squad – but United will take a late decision on his involvement.

Greenwood has pushed himself to the brink of a start after scoring in successive games against Astana and Rochdale.

Solskjaer doesn’t want to put too much pressure on the 17-year-old’s shoulders – but with so few options up front, may be forced to throw him into the action in such a critical game.

Paul Pogba has also had checks on his swollen ankle, which flared up after making his injury comeback against Rochdale.

Luke Shaw could be back from a hamstring strain.

United can move level on points with Arsenal if they win at Old Trafford – and go into the game having not lost at home to their fierce rivals since 2006.

While neither side has realistic ambitions of mounting a title challenge, Solskjaer expects both teams to be battling for a Champions League place.

“The top two last season were too far ahead from the rest of us,” he said. “I think we should be in and around the places behind there.

“Chelsea are going through a similar period of rebuilding, Arsenal, Tottenham, us, you've got Leicester, there are loads of teams there wanting those positions and that's where we'll be, in and around.”

Man Utd predicted lineup: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Pogba; Pereira, Lingard, James; Greenwood
