Man Utd predicted lineup and team news for Watford clash as Paul Pogba returns

Paul Pogba looks set to be named among the substitutes for Man Utd's trip to Watford on Sunday after a lengthy injury lay-off.

The French midfielder travelled with the United squad ahead of the Premier League clash at Vicarage Road, having not featured for his side since the end of September.

Pogba has been ruled out of action with a persistent ankle problem, but is in line to make his comeback against the Hornets.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will keep faith with the midfield pairing of Fred and Scott McTominay to start following their recent good form, but Pogba could get some minutes off the bench.

In a completely unchanged lineup from their last league fixture against Everton last weekend, Daniel James, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford will make up the five-man midfield.

Anthony Martial will lead the line in attack, after he and Rashford both scored in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Solskjaer will stick with his preferred back four after shuffling the pack for Wednesday's win over Colchester.

Victor Lindelof - scorer of an unfortunate goal against Everton last week - returns, along with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, to join Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw in defence.

David de Gea makes up the starting XI in goal, while Mason Greenwood is expected to be on the bench despite his vital equaliser in the draw with the Toffees.

United must address their poor record against sides below them in the table, having collected just 12 points from as many matches so far this season.

Harry Maguire said: “We know there have been games where we just haven't been good enough against teams from the bottom half of the table.

“We can’t put our finger on one reason why that is.

“In games against top-half teams we have been brilliant, but against the rest we really need to improve."

Predicted Man Utd XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, McTominay; James, Lingard, Rashford; Martial
