Man Utd 'planning audacious Jesse Lingard swap deal' to sign top transfer target

Manchester United are reportedly exploring the option of swapping Jesse Lingard for top target Declan Rice.

Lingard was out of favour at Manchester United at the start of the season but completed a loan move to West Ham in January and turned his campaign around.

The 28-year-old winger is the Premier League's in-form player whose strong performances recently earned him an England call-up.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is delighted with the progress Lingard has made on loan at West Ham and the Red Devils are believed to be excited to welcome the forward back to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

But according to The Athletic, Man United may now be exploring another option.

West Ham midfielder Rice is on the Red Devils' radar with boss Solskjaer said to be a big fan of the Englishman.

Rice is currently sidelined with a knee injury but is expected to be back in time for the European Championships in June.

West Ham are very keen to snap up Lingard and are already exploring this option, but David Moyes and co. will be reluctant to part company with Rice to make the transfer happen.

Moyes recently claimed the defensive midfielder is worth "far more" than £100million, suggesting West Ham would expect money plus Lingard before even considering a swap deal.
