Man Utd legend admits Daniel James gave him 'goosebumps' as Wales star wins Player of the Month

Daniel James has already been given the seal of approval at Man Utd by club legend Patrice Evra.

The former United left-back admitted James' debut strike against Chelsea last month gave him "goosebumps" and tipped him for more success.

James came off the bench to net on his first competitive appearance for the Red Devils, and hasn't looked back since.

The 20-year-old has followed that up with superb goals against Crystal Palace and Southampton , before netting for his country on Monday.

His impressive displays earned him United's Player of the Month award, which was presented to him by Evra .

“Daniel James, you’ve been voted by the fans and myself as player of the month,” Evra said. “I think you deserve it and to be honest I’m really really happy to give you that trophy because the passion, the love... I can see it.

“It’s the best days in your life when you’re playing for this club and we need those players.

"I remember your celebration you gave my goosebumps!

"I was watching you on TV and it was not about your goal, but more about your celebration because it was like ‘the club is on the right way’ because we need players like you."

Despite his relative youth, James has already shown he can be a key player for United with his consistently mature displays.

Evra knows all too well what it takes to be a United player, having won 10 major trophies - including the Champions League - during a stellar eight-year spell at Old Trafford.

He added: "Your age doesn’t matter; if you’re young or old, you need to show that passion and that love for this shirt because this badge has a big history.

"I think you understand everything and I’m convinced 100 per cent that you’re going to have an amazing career because you have the right attitude and that’s important."
