Manchester United fans have a theory about the out of favour Paul Pogba that may suggest Jose Mourinho was right about the Frenchman all along.
Pogba has struggled to nail down a starting place this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, starting in just five of his 11 appearances so far this term.
And when he does get the chance to play, many fans continue to criticise Pogba’s performances.
Pogba was regularly linked with a move away from United under Mourinho’s reign, with the pair coming to blows on multiple occasions.
Initially, he excelled upon the Portuguese’s departure - but he seems to have let his form slip again in the last few months.

This has led several fans on a United Reddit page to call for Pogba to be axed, with some even admitting that Mourinho was right about him in hindsight.
“Sell him in the summer, post euros. Hopefully he has a good one,” one commented. “He has the potential to be Coutinho like transfer for us.”
A second added: “I think Mourinho should’ve been allowed to sell him.”
“In his four years at the club he’s never been able to perform at a leading level for a sustained period,” wrote a third. “He’s clearly a very talented player but we just don’t see it often enough.”
While a fourth went on a tirade, stating: “I used to defend Pogba a lot. But over the last 3 years I saw Mourinho play him in a midfield pair with Matic which did not work out. I saw him play in a midfield three and still look inconsistent with some very good performances and some p*** poor performances.
“Then Ole tried the midfield three which did not work then he tried the midfield pairing again after restart and it looked like that was it but again world class Pogba began showing problems due poor defensive abilities. Now finally when he is out of the squad, we look like a proper team.”
