Man United XI vs Crystal Palace: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Ralf Rangnick

Manchester United will be managed by new interim boss Ralf Rangnick for the first time when they host Crystal Palace at Old Trafford today.

With caretaker Michael Carrick having gone unbeaten during his three games in temporary charge before leaving somewhat surprisingly, Rangnick could make further headway in pushing United towards the top four with a victory this afternoon.

With Carrick having denied the German had any impact on his decision to drop Cristiano Ronaldo against Chelsea last week, and Rangnick having called him ‘amazing’ in his first press conference, it is unsurprising to see the Portuguese striker starts from the off.

He has shaken off the knock he picked up in the win over Arsenal.

Elsewhere, United remain without key centre-back Raphael Varane, but his recovery from a thigh injury is said to be progressing well.

Paul Pogba also remains sidelined, while the likes of Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Nemanja Matic all miss out on the starting line-up, as does Edinson Cavani who is still carrying an injury.

Man United XI: De Gea, Dalot, Maguire, Lindelof, Telles, Fred, McTominay, Fernandes, Rashford, Sancho, Ronaldo

Subs: Henderson, Bailly, Jones, Wan-Bissaka, Elanga, Matic, van de Beek, Mata, Greenwood
