Man taken to hospital following assault in Motherwell store

A man was rushed to hospital following reports of an assault in a shop in North Lanarkshire this morning.

Emergency services scrambled to the Lifestyle Extra store in Motherwell’s Watling Street just before 10am, following reports of an incident.

One source described police officers and paramedics at the scene.

Police confirmed that one man had been taken to hospital and that an enquiry had been launched.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of an assault at a premises on Watling Street, Motherwell at around 9.45am on Thursday, 26 May, 2022.

“A man was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
