PUNE: A 48-year-old man filed a complaint with the Bhosari MIDC police on Monday stating an unknown man swapped his debit card and withdrew Rs1.43 lakh from his account on March 14.
Sub-inspector Sachin Chavan of the Bhosari MIDC police said on March 14, the victim had gone to a public sector bank’s ATM kiosk to withdraw cash. “There was another person inside the kiosk. As the complainant could not withdraw cash, the other man pretended to help him and swapped his debit card,” he said.
“The suspect not only withdrew cash but also made some online transfers, totalling Rs1.43 lakh,” Chavan said.
