Man suffers serious injuries after car collides with garden fence and tree

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered serious injuries when his car left a road, crashed through a garden fence and hit a tree.

The incident happened on the B6045 Carlton Road in Worksop at about 11.55pm on Thursday, December 24, but it is not thought any other vehicles were involved.

The driver, a man in his 30s, suffered a broken neck, fractured skull and punctured lungs in the incident and a female passenger was not injured.

Nottinghamshire Police is now investigating the incident.

Detective Constable Sarah Stables, of Nottinghamshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We believe a tall man with a ginger beard was walking past around the time of the crash and we'd urge him to get in touch with us as soon as possible as he may have key information which could assist us with our investigation.

"I'd also urge any other witnesses or any drivers who may have captured dashcam footage of the incident to please get in contact with us. Anyone who has any information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 662 of 24 December 2020."
