Man suffers serious facial injuries in 'unprovoked' attack outside Withington pub

A man has suffered serious facial injuries after being the victim of an 'unprovoked' attack outside a pub in Withington last night.

Police said the incident happened some time between 11.30pm and midnight on Wilmslow Road.

Posting on the local Facebook page, Greater Manchester Police said: "Incident began outside the Victoria Pub but continued with the actual assault happening outside what has been described as ‘the booze shop’.

"This is believed to be the small one, on the same side of the road as the pub."

The offender is described as a white male, 30-35 years old, average height with some facial hair, wearing a green jacket and a cap.

The victim suffered 'serious facial injuries', police said.
