Man suffers injured arm after being attacked by up to four men

A MAN suffered an arm injury after being set upon by up to four men during a vicious attack in Glenmavis at the weekend.

The victim was assaulted outside a house on the village’s Rydenmains Road at around 8.20pm on Sunday.

The culprits jumped into a dark-coloured car to flee the scene and the victim was taken to Monklands Hospital for treatment for his injury.

Detectives are continuing to investigate, with police officers carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area and checking CCTV footage for any information which could assist them.

Detective Constable Graeme Easton said: “The motive for this attack is unknown and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us.

“In particular, I would encourage any taxi drivers who were in that area to get in touch with us.

“I am also asking motorists to check their dash-cams as they could have images of the incident or the car which could aid our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3662 of March 7, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be given anonymously.
