Man suffers facial injuries following 'hatchet attack' in Bangor

A man has suffered facial injuries after allegedly being attacked with a hatchet inside a house in Bangor.

The PSNI are appealing for witnesses who may have saw the incident that is reported to have taken palace in the Whitehill Pass area just before 6.30am on Thursday, July 2.

Detective Constable Hughes said police received a report that a man had been assaulted in a house in the area.


He added: "It’s reported that three people entered the property, one of whom was armed with a hatchet.

“The victim was struck with the blunt end of the hatchet and has sustained cuts and swelling to his eye and face.

“We are appealing to anyone with information, or who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area – whether the group of three or an unknown vehicle, to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 294 of 02/07/29.”
