Man steals sweets from shop in knifepoint robbery

A man is wanted by police after he entered a shop on Church Road in Redfield wielding a knife and eventually ran off with some sweets.

The knifepoint robbery happened yesterday morning (July 7) at around 11:20am and police have issued CCTV images of the man in the hope that he can be identified.

He walked into the shop, threatening the shopkeeper with a knife, before stealing some sweets from the store.

Police describe the man as being white, aged in his late 20s or early 30s, with scruffy facial hair.

At the time of the knifepoint robbery, the man was wearing a dark hat, a patterned face covering, dark sunglasses, a long black coat and dark trousers.

He also rode a dark coloured bike.

Police say that if you recognise the man in the CCTV at all or you have any additional information which may help with their inquiries then you should call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5220149487.
