A man and a woman were arrested after a man was stabbed at a block of flats.
Police and paramedics were called to a block of flats on Laird Street, Birkenhead, at 2.30pm on Wednesday to reports that at 32 year-old man had been stabbed in the stomach.
A 50 year-old man and a 41 year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of wounding.
Both suspects are currently in police custody where they are being questioned by detectives.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
An investigation has been launched and police are carrying out further enquiries in the local area.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We are investigating reports a 32 year-old man was assaulted at flats in Birkenhead.
"Officers were called to Laird Street at 2.30pm yesterday, Wednesday 1st April, following reports a 32 year-old man had been stabbed in abdomen.
"The man was taken to hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
"A 50 year-old man and a 41 year-old woman were both arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding. Both currently remain in custody, where they are being questioned by detectives.
"An investigation is underway and house-to-house and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area."
